PRC (Provisional Receipt Certificate)

What PRC means in a GeM tender

Definition

The PRC is issued by the consignee on GeM when goods are delivered, confirming receipt subject to inspection and acceptance. It is not yet acceptance: the consignee then checks quantity and quality and, if everything is in order, issues the CRAC. Keep delivery challans and signed receipts so any dispute at this stage can be resolved quickly.

In simple words

PRC = 'maal aa gaya, check karenge'. CRAC = 'check kar liya, theek hai'.
