MSE (Micro and Small Enterprise)

What MSE means in a GeM tender

Definition

An MSE is a micro or small enterprise as defined under the MSMED Act, based on investment and turnover limits notified by the Ministry of MSME. MSEs with Udyam registration for the item they supply get benefits in public procurement — such as EMD exemption, purchase preference and, in many bids, relaxation of turnover and experience criteria. Medium enterprises are not MSEs for these benefits.

In simple words

MSE matlab chhota ya micro business — Udyam ho to tender mein kai chhoot milti hain.
