Finance options for GeM sellers

Pick what matches your stage: before the bid, after the order, or after delivery. A lender decides the final product, limit and terms.

Loan against GeM order (PO financing)

Funds to buy material and deliver a confirmed government order.

Who it is for

Sellers who have received a GeM contract / purchase order and need money to procure, manufacture or deliver.

How it works

  1. 1You share the GeM contract or work order
  2. 2The lender checks the order, the buyer and your track record
  3. 3If approved, funds are released for execution
  4. 4Repayment usually comes from the buyer's payment

Documents usually asked

  • GeM contract / purchase order
  • GST registration and recent returns
  • Udyam (MSME) certificate
  • Last 6–12 months bank statements
  • Supplier quotations for the material

Working capital for execution

A revolving limit (cash credit / overdraft) for salaries, stock and running costs.

Who it is for

Sellers who execute several government orders a year and face gaps between spending and getting paid.

How it works

  1. 1You share turnover, orders in hand and banking details
  2. 2The lender assesses cash flows and financials
  3. 3A limit may be set up that you draw from as needed

Documents usually asked

  • GST returns
  • Udyam certificate
  • Bank statements
  • Last 2–3 years ITR and financial statements
  • List of orders in hand

Bank guarantee, ePBG & EMD support

Guarantees asked in bids and contracts — EMD (where not exempt) and performance security.

Who it is for

Sellers whose bid or contract asks for a bank guarantee and who do not want to block their cash as a fixed deposit.

How it works

  1. 1You share the bid / contract clause asking for the guarantee
  2. 2The lender checks your profile and the margin or collateral it needs
  3. 3If approved, the guarantee is issued in the format the buyer asks for

Documents usually asked

  • Bid document or contract with the guarantee clause
  • GST and Udyam certificates
  • Bank statements
  • Financial statements
  • KYC of the business and promoters

Invoice discounting after delivery

Get paid early against invoices raised on government buyers, instead of waiting for the payment cycle.

Who it is for

Sellers who have delivered and invoiced, and are waiting for payment. MSMEs may also use RBI-authorised TReDS platforms where the buyer is onboarded.

How it works

  1. 1You share the delivered order and invoice details
  2. 2The lender or platform checks the invoice and the buyer
  3. 3If approved, you receive part of the invoice value early
  4. 4The balance settles when the buyer pays

Documents usually asked

  • Invoice and delivery / acceptance proof (e.g. CRAC on GeM)
  • GeM contract
  • GST returns
  • Bank statements

MSME business loan

A general term loan or limit to grow capacity, buy machinery or build working capital.

Who it is for

Registered MSMEs who want to grow before taking larger government orders.

How it works

  1. 1You share your business details and need
  2. 2The lender assesses eligibility under its MSME products
  3. 3If approved, it shares the offer and terms with you directly

Documents usually asked

  • Udyam certificate
  • GST registration and returns
  • Last 2–3 years ITR and financials
  • Bank statements
  • KYC of the business and promoters

How Mitra helps

  1. 1

    Share your need

Fill a 2-minute form: product, order details, turnover and contact.

  2. 2

    We call you

Our team understands the requirement and tells you which documents to keep ready.

  3. 3

    Introduced to a lender

With your consent, the file is shared with a suitable RBI-regulated lending partner.

  4. 4

    Lender decides

The lender assesses, and if it approves, shares the offer and terms with you directly.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mitra a bank or an NBFC?

No. Mitra is a GeM tender information platform. For finance, we only collect your requirement and, with your consent, introduce you to RBI-regulated lending partners. The loan agreement is always between you and the lender.

What interest rate will I get?

Mitra does not set or promise interest rates, fees or limits. The lender decides them based on your profile, documents and its own policy, and shares them with you before you sign anything.

Is approval guaranteed?

No. Every application is subject to the lender's checks and approval. Some applications are declined. Mitra never asks for any payment to "guarantee" a loan — please report anyone who does.

Can I get a loan against a GeM order?

Some lenders offer purchase-order or contract financing against confirmed government orders. Whether it is available to you depends on the order, the buyer, your track record and the lender's policy.

What is ePBG and EMD support?

Many GeM bids and contracts ask for an Earnest Money Deposit (unless you are exempt) or a performance security, often as an e-bank guarantee. A bank guarantee facility lets you give these without blocking the full amount as cash. The exact percentage is written in the bid document.

What is TReDS?

TReDS (Trade Receivables Discounting System) platforms are authorised by the RBI to let MSMEs discount invoices raised on eligible buyers, including some government bodies and PSUs. It works only if your buyer is onboarded on the platform.

Do I need a paid Mitra plan to apply?

No. Anyone can share a finance requirement from this page, with or without a Mitra account.

Who sees my details?

Mitra's team, and the lending partner(s) we introduce you to, only after you give consent in the form. We do not sell your data.
