Class-I local supplier

What Class-I local supplier means in a GeM tender

Definition

Under the Make in India procurement order, a Class-I local supplier is one whose goods, services or works have local content equal to or above the Class-I threshold (50% under the general order); Class-II covers local content above 20% but below that. Ministries can notify higher thresholds for specific items, so always use the figures given in the bid.

In simple words

Product mein aadha ya zyada Indian content = Class-I, sabse pehla haq.
