Bid splitting (Quantity distribution)

What Bid splitting means in a GeM tender

Definition

When a bid allows it, the buyer can split the ordered quantity among more than one technically qualified seller instead of giving everything to L1. Typically L1 gets the first share and the next sellers are offered the remaining quantity if they agree to match the L1 price. Whether splitting applies, and the shares, are stated in the bid document.

In simple words

Order ek seller ki jagah do-teen mein bant sakta hai — L1 ka rate match karoge to aapko bhi hissa mil sakta hai.
